(ocena niewydolności narządów w sepsie), następnie zmieniła
nazwę na Sequential Organ Failure Assessment.
Ocena obejmuje 6 najważniejszych układów w skali
0-4.
W literaturze spotyka się różne zastosowanie wyników tej oceny
dla dalszego prognozowania chorobowości, długości hospitalizacji,
kosztów hospitalizacji w OIT lub śmiertelności:
- Ocena w pierwszym dniu hospitalizacji (DAY 1 SOFA)
- Średnia ocena podczas pobytu w OIT (MEAN SOFA)
- Najwyższa ocena podczas hospitalizacji w OIT - suma najgorszych
ocen poszczególnych 6 komponent oceny SOFA podczas hospitalizacji
